Peak Performance Physical Therapy was proud to join Long Island Cares in their 2014 mission to provide food to Long Island’s hungry, while promoting independence and educating the community. As part of an annual food drive, Peak Performance placed donation boxes in each one of their four locations; which includes Lynbrook, Wantagh, Island Park and New Hyde Park. Peak encouraged their patients as well as their employees to donate food and fill the tall boxes. Each week, Long Island Cares sent over their trucks for a pick up, making sure that the boxes always had room for more donations. In January, LI Cares came for their final pick up. The results are in and the outcome was successful! Peak Performance Physical Therapy was able to collect 948 pounds of food.
Founded by the late Harry Chapin, on a daily basis Long Island Cares is responsible for running over 60 food drives across Nassau and Suffolk counties. For more information or to help them in their efforts, visit their website at: http://www.licares.org
