Meet players from the New York Cosmos as they sign autographs and teach a few tricks as the Peak Performance Soccer Team competes for the big win. While you’re there visit the Peak Performance Tent where you can get a pre- or post game stretch, learn about dynamic soccer warm ups, sign-up for some great give aways or get more info about Peak Performance’s programs. It’s a fun day for parents and kids alike.
The Michael Magro Foundation, a non-profit organization, was established in January 2005 to honor the life of Michael Magro, a thirteen-year-old seventh grader who, when diagnosed with leukemia (A.L.L.), passed away only months later. The efforts of the Foundation started with the pediatric cancer patients and their families at the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop-University Hospital as well as to other Winthrop pediatric specialties where the treatment of chronic diseases is ongoing because that is where Mike was treated for his leukemia.
Additionally, the Foundation awards two scholarships each year; one an academic and sports scholarship is awarded, through the Hicksville High School Scholarship program, to a student excelling in academics and sports; the other is a culinary scholarship endowed for a senior entering Culinary School.
